Trump’s campaign promise and the American Dream

There’s been a lot of conjecture, explanation and statistics as to why Donald Trump was reelected president of the United States.

Some of the most confounding voting statistics are the numbers of men who voted: young men, as well as large percentages of the Latino and Black communities.

Trump’s campaign used a page straight out of Marketing 101: identify the lack and promised to fill the need.

Progressive politics, the tech world, the embracing of non-binary genders, and moving away from “”traditional values” has left many men and boys feeling lost, with nothing to identify with, no blueprint and no direction.

Trump’s campaign and his supporters played on this vulnerability, telling men the disconnection they feel is emasculation, and emasculation at the hands of, well, women.

Masculinity is a fundamental part of the American Dream and the American identity, and this is what Trump, Vance and the Project 2025 people mean when they promise to Make America Great Again.

Forget industry and infrastructure; they promised remasculation: reinstating patriarchal order to the world where men have a clearly defined role of protector, provider, defender, and women have clearly defined roles of nurturer…
