Thoughts on the false logic of Fascism
Yesterday, Germany’s conservative majority party, the CDU, partnered for the first time with the far right AfD party to get an anti-migration bill pushed through parliament, with the CDU’s spokesperson Friedrich Merz, saying “A good decision doesn’t become wrong because the wrong side supports it”, apparently referring to the AfD, and twisting logic into a knot of meaningless rhetoric on a par with the Elon Musk.
Last week, Elon Musk paid a virtual visit to Germany’s far right party, the AfD. His live-streamed video address “reminded” Germans that “it’s ok” to be proud to be German, and that German culture should not be “diluted” by “multiculturism”. The crowd roared its approval and agreement, and Musk’s videos went viral.
The great irony here is that there is a 99% chance that every single person in attendance of that AfD rally and applauding Musk’s nonsense has a grandmother or great-grandmother who was raped by Russian soldiers at the end of WW2. And if they are not the product of Russian soldiers, they are the product of German soldiers raping women in Italy, France, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary… in fact, all the way back to Russia.
