Hi there! You haven’t seen me in a while because, over the summer, I got sick with Covid… but I still had to work (at home and isolated). My work capacity was really reduced, of course, but I had to keep going because I’m running a company. I think that probably dragged things out longer, but it is what it is, you know?

My team and I spent the summer interviewing personal trainers and getting them certified to teach the Pretty Deadly program. Certification is a combination of theory, methodology and technique, so we were able to do 80% over zoom and could teach techniques once I was well enough to travel and train again.

We located partner gyms in our launch cities, and hosted a couple of free events to get partners on board and let the people who are looking for us know that we’re here.

By the beginning of September, we were very proud to launch Pretty Deadly Self Defense in gyms across three territories: Pakistan, Germany, and the UK.

Traditionally the domain of martial arts, women’s self defense has never been subjected to regulation or governing bodies. There are no standards to meet, and no quality control to adhere to.
